The Good – There are so many updated and well done aspects of TK Cornelius I’m finding it hard to pick a place to start! We'll start from the head down. The head is a brand new sculpt, featuring a new hair sculpt as well. The upward hair spikes are something you would usually see on TK artwork and is a first for a figure; totally setting him apart from the other TK figure in your collection. The face has a slight variation on the standard TK face, with the mouth and nose being smaller and more curved respectively. The hands used for Cornelius are also a welcomed change of pace from the bulky stock TK gloves. These hands aren't a new sight in the TK world, previously being used on TK Ronin Moon, but the thinner build and more pronounced fingers make for sturdier hand with more posing options. The next huge thing on this figure are the bags. Now 99% of the bags he is carrying are your standard 3A bags, but the straps on the main satchel set them apart from the crowd. The shoulder strap of the bag has 3 loops stitched in so that you can store his 3 sheaths in them! He Joins the rank of the elite few TK’s that have a convenient way to store his blades properly. (Thanks to Keguang Kho on FaceBook for the correction on this. Oyabun Jackets also have sword slots) The bottom straps of the bag have slots for the 6 grenades that he comes with. The look of a string of grenades is very cool, but this kind of storage system isn't new. You can see similar grenade straps on other TK’s; most notably the Slicer TK’s. The Last awesome addition to this new blood line of TK is his arsenal of weapons! Not only is he loaded out with 6 grenades, he has a full set of Japanese swords! The daishō set as well as the ōdachi are a sweet edition to the TK arsenal. They really help convey his battlefield role as light weight, fast moving heavy hitter! I also personally like their inclusion because it’s the first time the swords have been an accurate depiction of weaponry and not a Hollywood cliché.
The Bad – One of the most annoying things on this figure are the feet. Beside the TK designer shoes, which I personally don't like on any TK, it feels as if no effort was made to secure the foot inside of the shoe. It’s a double edged sword; on the one hand it gives the articulated foot in the shoe great space to move and hit more dynamic poses, but the very soft vinyl shoes don’t form right over the foot because they aren't connected. This leads to a huge hassle with posing because balance between the two is hard to find. The Feel of the shoe is also off. Maybe it’s due to the lack of foot connection, but his shoes feel incredibly soft in comparison to other TK shoes of the same style.
The Ugly – There is only one thing on this figure that fits this category and that is the neck joint. Many have suffered from the brittle stiff neck of this figure, some unlucky enough to have it come right out of the box broken. A lot of people are saying that it’s due to the thinner body being used on the figure and I don’t think it’s fair. The thinner body is a bit more fragile than the old bulky TK stock but isn't the direct cause of this issue. It’s just a combination of weathering powder build up on the neck socket and joint and paint lock that creates the tension needed to snap the joint. As of writing this 3A has announced that if you have this issue you can send them video or a picture and they will ship you a replacement body at no cost, which is good on them.
